On April 22, an audio recording was spread on Facebook, accompanied by photos of members of the For Georgia party, Ana Buchukuri and Natia Mezvrishvili. According to the spreader’s claim, the recording contains the voices of Buchukuri and Mezvrishvili arguing. The same video was also shared in the Facebook group “Anti-Maidan! The Voice of the Nation!”
The audio shared on social media does not capture an argument between Buchukuri and Mezvrishvili. The full audio, along with a recording of the live video, has been posted on TikTok, and it actually features an argument between two TikTok users – tata.morieli and gijunia69gijunia.
The circulated video displays the uploader’s TikTok account name – “butrossbutrosgal.” However, as of April 23, the video is no longer available on that account. Another TikTok user has posted the video with the same claim.
The audio in the clip has been taken from a different TikTok video. In reality, the recording does not involve Mezvrishvili and Buchukuri but reflects a confrontation that occurred during a TikTok live session. This is confirmed by recordings of the live video (1; 2), which were published in the morning of April 22. In the live video, the TikTok users have their cameras turned off, but the argument is fully audible, and a cut version of this video was later used in the clip involving the politicians. At the end of the recording, the woman involved in the live confrontation briefly turns on her camera to show viewers how she is running away.
In the full recording, other participants in the shared live video are heard addressing one of the women involved by the name Tata. Comments visible in the video also mention the same name.
According to the video, the TikTok name of one of the women involved in the argument is “gijunia69gijunia.” A TikTok user with that name does indeed exist and uses the same profile picture as seen in the video. She also regularly streams Live videos on the platform.
The other woman involved in the confrontation, whose TikTok account is named “tata.morieli,” responded to the incident with several videos (1;2;3). In these videos, she mentions “Gijunia” and the fight that took place during the live video. She also states that she had been at the police station because “Gijunia” filed a complaint against her. The woman discusses the segment of the live video in which she was seen running and says, “She was showing the camera to people, saying I ran away. Where did I run, you pitiful thing? I was in pajamas, and you deliberately wanted to show me to people on camera…”
In conclusion, the audio recording does not reflect a fight between Natia Mezvrishvili and Ana Buchukuri. The confrontation actually occurred between two TikTok users and was recorded from a live video streamed on the platform.
