On April 5, a news card from the TV channel Mtavari Arkhi was shared on Facebook, which featured the following quote allegedly from Tina Bokuchava, one of the leaders of the United National Movement (UNM): “All supporters of the United National Movement must go to Ukraine and fight against Russia. Only this way can we get rid of [the Georgian] Dream.”

The quote attributed to Tina Bokuchava and presented with the Mtavari Arkhi’s visuals is fabricated. The news card has been digitally altered, and the quote featured on it has been changed. This post cannot be found on the official Facebook page of Mtavari Arkhi, nor is Bokuchava’s statement of similar content available in open sources.

No similar quote from Bokuchava is available from any other open source. The media has not reported such a statement, and no such post can be found on either the United National Movement or Bokuchava’s social media pages. As for the news card designed with Mtavari Arkhi’s logo and visuals, it has been digitally edited. The original post was published on Mtavari Arkhi’s Facebook page on April 3 and contained Bokuchava’s comment regarding the UK’s sanctions on Georgian judges.

A comparison with the original news card shows that the fabricated version uses a different font, which does not appear in other posts from Mtavari Arkhi.

It is worth noting that fabricated news cards using Mtavari Arkhi’s visuals have also been spread in the past. Previously, similarly fabricated news cards were posted by Facebook user Ramaz Margvelashvili in the group “Mikheil Saakashvili – Georgia’s Hope.” As seen from his activity in the group, Margvelashvili continues to share similar posts.

A Google search for Bokuchava’s fake quote indicates that such a post was shared in the Facebook group “Mikheil Saakashvili – Georgia’s Hope” four days ago; however, clicking on the links now shows that the post has been deleted.
