Public Movement “United Neutral Georgia”

United Neutral Georgia

The public movement “United Neutral Georgia” was founded on July 10, 2024; however, no information is available in the registry of entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities.

According to a letter from the founders, the purpose of establishing the movement is to give the Georgian people the opportunity to better understand the reality related to the country’s foreign policy priorities. The letter also states that “United Neutral Georgia” will transform into a political party in about a year’s time.

The founding group members of the public movement are: Vato Shakarishvili, Bidzina Giorgobiani, Nana Kakabadze, Gela Nikolaishvili, and Levan Nikoleishvili.

Vato Shakarishvili is the founder of the civil movement “Georgia First” and the director of a conservative online publication of the same name.

Former Minister of Environment Bidzina Giorgobiani considers himself a political prisoner of the previous government. He left the country in 2005, and in 2007, he was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison on charges of abuse of official powers. He frequently appears on pro-government propaganda channels, as does another member of the movement, Nana Kakabadze, a pro-government expert and the chairperson of the organization Former Political Prisoners for Human Rights.
