On September 23, several Russian (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and Georgian-speaking Facebook accounts shared a photo of a young half-naked woman resembling Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. These accounts claimed that Tsikhanouskaya was trying to attract young voters with this image.
The woman in the photo is not Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya but an adult industry model who is registered on social networks under the name Stasiia Levina.
The photo circulating on social media was uploaded by the adult industry model herself on her X account (formerly Twitter) on September 21. Notably, she has shared other images from the same photoshoot.
On her X profile, the young model has also linked to her other social media accounts, including an adult website, which further confirms her profession as an adult model.
“Myth Detector” has previously uncovered similar cases where female politicians were discredited based on their gender. These include visual manipulations targeting German Minister Annalena Baerbock, U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and the chairperson of Georgia’s United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava.
