Between 27 and 31 March, Russian- (1, 2, 3, 4) and Georgian-language Facebook accounts shared information claiming that the staff at the Mykolaiv gymnasium No. 6 distributed badges reading, “My Father Is a Deserter,” to children. The Facebook posts were accompanied by photos and videos showing the badge.

The claim that children in the Mykolaiv gymnasium No. 6 were distributed badges with the inscription “My Father Is a Deserter” is disinformation. The gymnasium administration responded to the claim, denying that badges with such an inscription were handed out to children.

The claim about the distribution of badges to children in the sixth Mykolaiv gymnasium has only been spread by suspicious propaganda accounts. The school responded to the claim with a statement saying that it has never distributed such badges to children and that the badge featuring the school logo is fake.

The statement further notes that similar disinformation was also spread in the past about a school in Vinnytsia, which was debunked by Ukrainian fact-checkers
