In the interview with Obieqtivi TV on December 10, Tina Topuria, a homeopath, spoke about “the threats” posed by COVID-19 vaccines, noting that the vaccine has already killed six people and that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had to admit it. She also stressed that Prince Charles refused to get the coronavirus vaccine. On December 11, Tina Topuria shared her TV interview from the page of Nino Ratishvili, Obieqtivi TV host, to her own Facebook account.
Tina Topuria, a homeopath: “Two persons have died and the FDA that should issue a license… is silent; but still it had to admit that two persons have died from it. As it appears from this document, a total of six people have died, not two. It caused allergic reactions in England and when someone has to admit that these allergic reactions were caused by vaccination, it means that there are serious complications there, not simply allergic reactions. Now look at how things developed there; for example, Prince Charles refused to get vaccinated, saying that he would not get a genetically modified vaccine.”
Tina Topuria’s remarks contain two manipulations and one disinformation: 1) The information as if people died in COVID-19 vaccine trials is a manipulation, because four of six persons received a placebo meaning that they were not vaccinated at all; therefore, the vaccine could not have caused any fatal alterations; two more victims were both above 55 years of age; one experienced a cardiac arrest and the other died from arteriosclerosis. Scientists suggest that all deaths represent events that occur in the general population of the age groups where they occurred, at a similar rate. 2) Two cases of allergic reactions were confirmed in the United Kingdom and the health regulators reported about it. 3. The claim as if Prince Charles refused to get vaccinated is disinformation.
- FDA document and number of deaths
The document Tina Topuria refers to was presented by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee Meeting on December 10, 2020 and it covered clinical trials of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
According to the document, a total of 43,448 people participated in trials in a period between April 29 and November 14. It is worth noting that 21,728 of 43,448 were placebo participants, meaning that they were not vaccinated at all. A placebo is an approved method of medical treatment and placebo groups are created to compare final results of clinical trials. Placebo recipients did not know that they had not been vaccinated.
The document notes that six of 43,448 enrolled participants died during the reporting period. Four of six persons received a placebo meaning that they were not vaccinated at all and therefore, the vaccine could not have caused any fatal alterations. The document stresses that three victims from the placebo group were above 55 years of age.
As for the two COVID-19 vaccinated participants, one experienced a cardiac arrest 62 days after vaccination #2 and died 3 days later, and the other died from arteriosclerosis 3 days after vaccination #1. Both were above 55 years of age.
- COVID-19 vaccine in the United Kingdom and cases of anaphylaxis
Tina Topuria speaks about allergic reactions caused by vaccination in the United Kingdom. Two cases of anaphylaxis were really reported in the UK prompting June Raine, Chief Executive of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to release a statement, saying that “any person with a history of anaphylaxis to a vaccine, medicine or food should not receive the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine.” Moreover, according to the same statement, a second dose should not be given to anyone who has experienced anaphylaxis following administration of the first dose of this vaccine.
Allergic reactions may be caused by any medical or non-medical product, including vaccines. The FDA document (which is publicly available) notes that one allergic reaction is anticipated per 1000 COVID-19 vaccinated people.
Experts suggest that there is nothing alarming in this amount of allergic reactions. Prof. Peter Openshaw, an expert in immunology at Imperial College London, said: “The fact that we know so soon about these two allergic reactions and that the regulator has acted on this to issue precautionary advice shows that this monitoring system is working well.”
- Prince Charles has not refused to get vaccinated
Prince Charles has not refused to get vaccinated. The original source, British Financial-press.uk only suggested his refusal referring to the article about Prince Charles dated 1998, where he actually slammed genetically modified food, not vaccines.
Fake news about Prince Charles’ fight against vaccination was spread in Georgia by a conspiratorial Russian Instagram account, which portrayed the article released by Financial-press.uk as the fact.
In fact, members of the British royal family are waiting in line to get the coronavirus vaccine.
