On September 19, a Facebook page called βπ¨πΈπΎπ» ο½β shared a video in which a news anchor talks about Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and says, βKrakhi Kalosha [a mocking nickname for Kakha Kaladze] is running out of gay lovers. So, if anyone is interested, please visit his office for some quality time.β Comments under the video show that some Facebook users perceive it as a real news broadcast.

The video about Kakha Kaladze is created using artificial intelligence. There is no television station with a logo like the one shown in the video. It is also impossible to identify the news anchor. AI-detection tools also confirm that the video is AI-generated.
The visual details of the news broadcast fragment circulating on social media about Kakha Kaladze indicate that it was created by AI. For example, two logos are visible on the right side of the screen. The symbol in the upper right corner resembles the logo of Mtavari TV, but it is inaccurately depicted. Another symbol in the lower right corner looks similar to the party logo of Georgian Dream. In addition, the anchorβs identity cannot be determined, further confirming that the video is not a real news broadcast fragment.

Beyond visual features, the video was uploaded to several AI-detection tools. Programs such as HIVE Moderation and HYIA assessed the audio of the circulated video as AI-generated with a very high probability (98β99%).

The video does not show signs of being created with programs specifically designed for generating visual content. However, the page βπ¨πΈπΎπ» ο½β has published other similar videos, and in some of them (1; 2) the names of programs (VEO and Viggle.ai) used to generate visuals with artificial intelligence are visible. It is therefore likely that the page uses similar programs for creating its videos.
Myth Detector has previously fact-checked AI-generated videos that were perceived as authentic news broadcasts. In one case, the anchor claimed that women were banned from driving. That video was created using VEO technology and was shared by a TikTok account called ai_is_real1 (AI is real). Read more in the article:
The Facebook page βπ¨πΈπΎ ο½β was created on February 17, 2019, and published only a few videos (its last activity was recorded on September 22, 2019). After six years of inactivity, it became active again and between August 21 and September 20 shared 16 videos – except for one, all created by artificial intelligence. The videos concern members of the Georgian Dream party. The Facebook pageβs βAboutβ section states that it was created for entertainment purposes only.Β
