A representative of the Lanchkhuti municipality confirmed to Myth Detector that the municipality had provided the statement to Imedi TV.

Shortly after Imedi published the statement, Davit Katsarava posted on Facebook that the information about the house collapse was not confirmed. However, he added that he still planned to enter the village with other volunteers.

Due to heavy snowfall in western Georgia, the situation in the Guria region is difficult. The snowfall has resulted in casualties. Road closures have restricted emergency medical services in the region, and access to some villages is blocked. There are also issues with electricity, gas, and water supplies. The heavy snowfall caused damage to houses. According to the mayor of the Lanchkhuti municipality, about 40 houses have been damaged. Communication with some villages has also been disrupted. Since February 20, the educational process in Guria has been suspended, and several suburban train routes have been canceled. Official agencies report that emergency response efforts are ongoing to assist the population. Meanwhile, a group of volunteers has been formed to help those affected in Guria.
