On October 14, the anonymous anti-opposition Facebook page “Wise Critic” posted a video featuring Aleko Elisashvili, a member of the “Strong Georgia” coalition, responding to the author’s questions. The video includes captions and hints prompting Elisashvili to name members of the coalition. For instance, when presented with the captions “fraudster” and “moneylender,” the politician responds, “This is Khazaradze.” The author’s voice then confirms his answer as correct. The footage also contains other derogatory captions.

The video featuring Aleko Elisashvili has been manipulated, and the anonymous page is spreading a video fabrication. In the original video, Elisashvili is trying to guess coalition members based on their childhood photos.

Elisashvili’s video was posted on his TikTok page, where he attempts to identify members of the “Strong Georgia” coalition from their childhood photos. The TikTok video description explains that the video focuses on recognizing politicians from their childhood pictures, and this is reiterated at the start of the video before any questions are asked.

In the fabricated version, the segment showing the childhood photos of the politicians is cut and replaced with captions intended to discredit members of the coalition.

The anti-opposition Facebook page “Wise Critic” was created on May 27, 2024, and consistently disseminates videos aimed at discrediting opposition party members and journalists from critical media outlets. The video collages posted by the page do not feature any content targeting the ruling party. “Myth Detector” has fact-checked the video manipulations from the Facebook page in the past.
