On February 2, a Facebook user shared a photo allegedly depicting U.S. President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of trafficking, together with children. The children’s faces are blurred. The Facebook user also shared a screenshot claiming that the image had been uploaded to Google’s search engine, where artificial intelligence assessed it as a real photograph.

The photo circulating on social media, which shows Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein with children, is not authentic. It contains visual flaws characteristic of AI-generated imagery. In addition, in the year the photo is supposedly taken (1997), both Trump and Epstein looked different from how they appear in the circulated image.

Initially, we attempted to find a full version of the image, where the details would be more clearly visible. In the upper part of the full-size photo, an inscription can be seen reading “Trump 7/7/97,” which presumably refers to the alleged date the photo was taken – July 7, 1997. In the image, Jeffrey Epstein has dark black hair, which does not correspond to his appearance in authentic photographs from 1997. In a verified photo of Epstein and Trump taken in February of the same year, Epstein’s hair appears gray, and Trump also looks younger than in the image circulating on social media.

Moreover, only four fingers are visible on Donald Trump’s right hand, while one of the children appears to have six fingers on their left hand. The hand of another child sitting nearby also looks unnatural, with its details impossible to discern.

The photo was also examined by the U.S. fact-checking organization Snopes. Its researchers concluded that the image was generated using artificial intelligence. Additionally, they contacted the U.S. Department of Justice to ask whether a similar photo could be found in the files released by the department, but they did not receive a response.

On January 30, the U.S. Department of Justice released more than three million files related to Jeffrey Epstein. The documents include personal correspondence, photographs, and videos. Jeffrey Epstein had been convicted of sexual abuse and was accused of child sex trafficking. On November 19, 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order titled the “Epstein Files Transparency Act,” after which files related to Epstein were released periodically.

In recent days, Myth Detector has also examined visual manipulations circulating in connection with the Epstein files, which falsely suggested that New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani attended Epstein’s parties together with his mother. You can read more about this in the following article:
