The attacker was verbally abusing the protesters. He was then escorted away by other unidentified young men. An investigation into the attack is underway.

Since November 28, continuous protests have been held in Georgia. The demonstrations began after the ruling party, Georgian Dream, decided not to put the issue of opening EU membership negotiations on the agenda until the end of 2028. To discredit the protests, numerous pieces of disinformation and visual manipulation have been spread on social media and pro-government media outlets. Interested groups are trying to portray the demonstrators and the protest movement as violent. The Myth Detector continuously verifies information related to the protests.
