On January 28-29, various media outlets, including Radio Imedi, Rustavi 2, Newshub, The Tbilisi Times, and the news agency INFO9, disseminated the following quote attributed to Elon Musk: “I think Iran is one of the best countries for investments. I will probably visit this country in the future.”

The quote attributed to Elon Musk is fabricated. The circulated statement about Iran cannot be found on Musk’s social media pages or in any other open sources.

The circulated quote cannot be found in any open sources. It has not been posted on Musk’s X account, nor has it been covered by any reliable media outlets. Notably, on January 30, an account on X claimed that Musk made this comment to the Associated Press. However, no such quote has been published by the Associated Press.

It is worth noting that in November 2024, The New York Times, citing anonymous sources, reported that Elon Musk met with Iran’s ambassador to the UN. According to the publication, the meeting was related to the potential de-escalation of relations between Iran and the United States. The Trump administration and Musk did not comment on or confirm the information. The Iranian side has officially and “categorically” denied the meeting. However, citing sources, another American media outlet, CBS, also reported on the meeting after The New York Times. Over the past few months, this has been the only news in international media regarding Musk and Iran.
