On August 7, a video was shared on Facebook (1;2), in which a news anchor talks about banning women from driving and says, “Driver’s licenses will no longer be issued to women. Ban on Women Driving

An AI-generated video about banning women from driving is being circulated. The claim is false and has not been reported by Mtavari TV company.

The video shared on social media bears the old logo of Mtavari Arkhi and gives the impression that it was filmed in the television studio. No information about women being banned from driving has been posted on Mtavari’s official Facebook page.

In the lower right corner of the video, a faint inscription “Veo” can be seen – a program created by Google DeepMind. Veo is an AI-based program that creates videos from a given photo and text. The program was released in 2024, and since then, numerous videos created using this technology have been shared on social networks. Some of the videos are entertaining, and Facebook users can tell that they were generated by artificial intelligence.

The circulated video is also found on TikTok. The account ai_is_real1 uploaded the video on August 7, using the hashtag #ai in the description. It is likely that this TikTok account is the original source of the AI-generated video, as it has posted many other videos created with similar technology. Several of these videos also use Mtavari Arkhi’s logo and a similar studio setting.
